Step up your security
Stay vigilant against phishing attempts
Scammers may contact you pretending to be from Latitude or Gem via text, call, email, or mail.
Always confirm that messages are legitimate
Inspect the sender's email address for anomalies. The address might be unusual, misspelled or slightly different from the correct address, for example latetudefinancial.com rather than latitudefinancial.com.
Generic greetings and sign offs
Scammers will send out thousands of e-mails or text messages at once, and they don’t know who they are sending them to. Their messages will often contain generic greetings and sign offs. A legitimate organisation knows who they are contacting and will often personalise their messages with the recipient’s name, for example ‘Hi Jane….’.
Be careful with links and attachments
Be wary of links and attachments in e-mails and texts, especially if you’re not expecting the message. Check the link carefully to make sure it’s come from Latitude. Scammers often use ‘lookalike’ addresses that at first glance look like a legitimate address, but if you look more closely, there might be a very slight misspelling, for example lattudefinancial.com rather than latitudefinancial.com.
Ignore and report suspicious calls or messages
Forward any fraudulent messages pretending to be Latitude or Gem to scams@latitudefinancial.com, then erase them.
Keep an eye on your banking activity
Alert your bank immediately if you detect anything unusual or suspicious.
Maintain strong, unique passwords
Change your passwords regularly, pick complex ones, and use multi-factor authentication where possible.
